The Devils Punchbowl

The amount of non local visitors that visit this blog is amazing, and may need a little background to the beauty spot that this tunnel goes under. There are many other references to the Devils Punchbowl in the area, such as a hotel and cafe, even the site canteen is called the Devils Lunchbowl, but here are two links to the original wonder of the south

I also noticed, driving home from work tonight, that someone has put a banner on the fencing, does anyone know what it says or what it is for?


Look like they are getting deeper into the tunnels!

Can everyone please read the following:

Can everyone that takes photo's please use their common sense and stay outside the fencing and boundary markings that are clearly set out. these are for your own saftey and protection. We do not want anyone having an accident or trepassing.

I know that while the project coordinators dont mind photo's being taken we like to keep them happy as I know they look at this site.

This is the single biggest piece of engineering this area has ever seen and we all want to enjoy it.

Please stay safe and be responsible and adhere to all safety warnings and notices.

The above photo is where the northern portal entrances are now

The next 3 are of the Southern end looking towards the Portal and back up the hill towards the viewing platform

The one below is of the Northern end - looks slightly different now!

Would really like to have some of the tunnel now they have dug into it more and possible some of the other work they are doing around bramshott and Thursley
