Great to see so many of you sending in comments, my personal favourite the chap who wants the tunnel open by 3:30am tomorrow morning as he is going to France! classic!
Keep them coming in guys, and as soon as I know anything about opening dates/days/hours/minutes etc etc i will let you all know.
I'm planning on going up the tunnel tonight about 9pm to have a look see what is (not) happening anyone wanna join me?

I went up to Miss James Bridge at 1pm, neither carriageway was clear of contractor's equipment.
A friend who works for the local emergency services informs me opening has been delayed until later in the month.
Did you manage to find out if there is a planned opening date?
I thuoght I originally saw it as early July, but I've now seen websites saying End of July?

On the worksite entrance on the southbound A3 carriageway as you approach Hindhead there is a matrix sign behind the gates counting down time to opening.
Or is the sign wrong?
Blink and you'll miss it, but it has been there for a while!

Has anyone noticed that the delays at Hindhead have got even worse in the last couple of days? Am I getting far too cynical or is it possible that someone has reset the priorities at the lights on the assumption that the tunnel would be open by now? The cross traffic seems to be getting far more time!!
Yes, I for one have noticed the delays at Hindhead are much worse lately. Can't think they put a timer on changing the light sequence though?
This has taken far far to long. A bypass should have been done years ago. But no the good burgers of Hindhead would not have it. Because of this I never ever let side road car come on.
