I was feeling a little nostalgic today so thought I would find some photo's showing life before the tunnel project was started. The top one is a photo of the Hindhead crossroads which was taken in 1958! Lets hope Hindhead is this as quiet as this once the tunnel is opened! The second is of the the Northern end just after they had started to clear the trees and prepare the access roads. I could not find one of before that unfortunately.
The bottom one is of the Southern end before any tress had been cleared or any prep work done.
As you can see things have dramatically changed over the last 2 years!!!!!
