Brilliant that you have recorded the tunnelling at Hindhead, which will exist long after we're all dead! We in Kent went through a similar transformation along the A2 with the building of the high speed train link, which changed Greenhithe from a life-long dump of a place to "Ebbsfleet International Station". Humans can be extremely clever -sometimes. Best wishes, Chris
Chris,
Thanks for your kind comments and I'm pleased you enjoy reading the blog. Sorry i've not been able to update it as much as i would have liked to this year.
Your right it amazing what we can do and how we can transform places with a bit of imagination and careful planning.
happy new year and best wich and good luck for the year ahead.
regards
Gummy
Great Blog,
Just wondered if you knew or point in right direction for information regarding what will happen with the Flow of Traffic on the A287 Farnham To Haslemere.
Obviously going to great for A3 but assume Hindhead Traffic lights will remain in same form but equally hope the timing/management of lights will be designed to speed this flow which is terrible, in many ways as much of a % slow down/conjestion as the London - Portsmouth route but obviously less cars.
I wonder how much thought the Highways will have put into this side.
I might have missed this is the past so appologise if so.
I am not 100% certain what is going to happen at the lights, I have heard rumours but no more than that.
They will obviousl;y have to be some sort of change
