The A3 Tunnel is an important road construction programme in Hndhead, Surrey, UK. The tunnel is 1.9km in length and the longest non estuary tunnel in the country. The tunnel and this blog have also been featured on BBC Radio Solent, BBC South Today, Meridian Tonight and a host of newspapers.

What a cool blog!
I'm from Surrey (Weybridge) orignally and now live in Portsmouth and so go through Hindhead every time I go home and it's great to see what's going on and how it happens.
Keep up the good work! (it's now on my favourites so I can check it regularly!)

Tbh this is the only site I look at for up to date information on what's happening to the tunnel. Trouble is when this project is finished what are you going to do to occupy yourself with then? :-)
Hi Toby,
Glad you like the blog, I try my best!!!!
Will probably keep it updated every now and again but will then move onto another project which is happening in the local area which is starting in 2012
Cant say too much at the moment as it is classified info and have been sworn to secercy!

This is a great site and probably one of the better ones covering the tunnel (and there are quite a few of 'em). We travel from Portsmouth to Woking & Addlestone quite a lot and it's not always possible to see what is going on at this incredible engineering project. Your website is brilliant for keeping us up to speed. Well done! Need lots more pics though with captions.
