Just had it confirmed to me that they will be breaking through tomorrow (thursday 26th Feb)

I think a massive well done is in order for how quickly they have done it and how little disruption there has been for us locals.

Keep up the good work guys!!

Tunnel makes front cover

The Plant Managers Journal has an article on the plant used to construct the tunnel.
Nice to see one of the contributors pictures used. This is at the tunnel face and the spoil is being loaded onto the conveyor belt.

Temporary Traffic Lights

Just to let everyone know there are some temporary traffic lights on the A3 between Hazel Grove and Hammer Lane this weekend while they remove trees for the movement of the southbound carriageway.
The delays should not be too long but felt best to warn everyone

Big red dangley one!!!!

I took a toddle down the Southern Portal this morning just to see what was happening and they had a mahoosive crane pouring in concrete to something round the tunnel services building, which is really coming along now.
They have also planted some new trees just to prove they do care about the surrounding area.
Keep your pics and comments coming please guys.

Lets go flying!!!!!

Receieved these fantastic photo's today from someone that took a flight over the works in a light aircraft.
They are from last October so work has developed since then but they really give you an idea of the scale of the project and just well the constructors have done in minimising the effect on the surrounding area.
A big thank you to Janet and Dave for the brilliant pics
